The Case Of The 27 Knife Stabs: Chapter 1 – Part 1

At the city police building, there was a large office on the 8th floor facing south. It was spacious and bright, luxuriously decorated, with computers, printers, copiers, electronic whiteboards, large screens and other office equipment could be also readily available, even the desks and chairs are all made from high-grade materials.

On that office door, a golden doorplate was nailed indicating that it was the special case team’s office.

The SCT, whose full name is the special case team, only takes on strange and difficult to solve cases.

This was what Director Geng Bo said to Xia Fan when she first joined the bureau office.

Xia Fan heard his words and still entered the special case team!

But she didn’t expect that the main job of the special case team is indeed to deal with strange and unconventional crime cases.

However, what case could be considered on par with their criteria of selection was up to the Bureau to decide on.

Xia Fan has been working there for two months and so far there was not a single case dubbed as “strange or unconventional”.

In other words, she has been idle for two months, and based on her observations, she felt that it is very likely that she will continue to idle indefinitely.

Xia Fan was the daughter of Xia Zheng, the chairman of the top three ranked Huaxia Group in China.

She has always been a smart kid.

In junior high school, she was hooked on mystery detective novels and dramas.

In college she was even more out of control, although at the request of Xia Zheng, she had gone abroad to study business administration, but she had also secretly enrolled in a criminal investigation program.

While she had to get good grades in business administration, she also had to run to another school without telling her father!

Her life abroad, juggling two different studies was very hard, but Xia Fan is a persevering person and she finally returned home after graduating from both schools.

After some long arguments with her family, she finally got to work at the police station as she wished, but she did not expect her father to set her up like this, coaxing her to sit on the cold bench.

In addition to Xia Fan, there are two other members of the special case team.

One was called Li Hong General, known as Little Li Zi. He is not very tall and seems to barely make 1.6 m. Xia Fan feels that when she is wearing a high heel, she would be obviously taller than him by at least half a head.

Little Li Zi had a frail and thin constitution. He looked like those petty thieves bandits. It was said that he have been ostracized before being sent to the special case team.

The other team member is Mo Yun, who contrary to his gentle name is a 1.88 m big man with a rounded and thick waist.

When Li Hong and him stand side by side, they would look like dragon brother and mouse brother. It goes without saying, that, he too looked like an offender.

The first time Xia Fan saw the two of them, she thought that the rest of the group had gone out on the field to handle a case, but that was not it.

This so-called special case team is really only the three of them.

Xia Fan was not really bothered by this. At that time, her enthusiasm made her ideally renovate this big office and she also equipped it with the best supplies.

However, It has been already two months and she had yet to touch a single case.

Last week, she finally could not resist and went knocking on the director’s office door to have a showdown with Geng Bo claiming that if there is no case to investigate within a week, she will ask for a transfer to the district’s criminal investigation team.

Of course Geng Bo would not agree to this, he had promised his old friend Xia Zheng that he would take good care of Xia Fan, so how could he send her to such a dangerous place.

Finally, Geng Bo promised that he would pick a case for the special case team by next week.

It’s Tuesday, the morning sun is just right, Xia Fan took a fashion magazine and sat in a big lounge chair by the window to pass the time, she will see if Uncle Geng’s can keep his word.

At 10.05, the door of the special case team was gently knocked twice.

Geng Bo led a tall young man into the room. The man appeared to be in his early thirties. He looked about 1.8 m tall with short hair and bright eyes, actually, a little too bright, coupled with a slightly quirked mouth, seemingly smiling, making Xia Fan think that he was being frivolous.

Geng Bo entered the room and began to introduce him: ” This person is called Han Zecheng, originally the youngest Interpol agent in China, solved countless cases, first-class ability, and now transferred back to be the head of the city bureau’s special case team.”

Geng Bo said that the bureau attaches great importance to the special case team and thus has put one of its outstanding members at its service and also said things like: “I hope everyone can work hard together to solve this case seriously” and so on and on for like another ten minutes.

Han Zecheng laughed at Geng Bo’s words: “Geng Bureau, your words can be so euphemistic sometimes. To put it bluntly, I’m a good cop. I had a case I wanted to solve. My superior told me to let it go so I quit.”

“Director Geng couldn’t bear to see me out on the streets, and it just so happened that the legendary special case team had to have a case to work on. Director Geng also wanted someone to take care of the rookie Missy and the Dragon Brother and Rat Brother combo. So in order to save him some troubles, I have been given the position of team leader. It is quite logical and it’s the best outcome for both parties involved.”

He pretended not to see the four people in the room staring at him, and just threw a few file folders on the table, and pulled over a chair to sit across and said: “This is a big deal. The first case assigned to the special case team, so if you’re interested, you can study it, but if you’re not, the Bureau won’t be too anxious.” He squeezed his eyes at Geng Bo and grinned: “Isn’t that right, Director Geng? “

Geng Bo coughed twice and said in a serious manner: “Although this case can seem easy to solve, there are still quite a few doubts, so let’s study it carefully.”

Xia Fan ignored all of this, she couldn’t wait to turn the file over, the case she had been waiting for, ah it is finally here and she had to take a good look at it.
