Synopsis: As tragedy befalls Xin Siyue, she soon finds herself transmigrated into a novel world as a character. To her disappointment, she became the villainess who obsessively chased after the male protagonist while scheming to tear apart his relationship with his beloved.
To avoid her death route, Xin Siyue carefully avoided the male and female protagonists at every turn. Instead, she went off on her own to enjoy life. But somewhere along the way, she made a mistake: the male protagonist took notice of her!
Xin Siyue’s eyes teared up as she was being kissed in Chen Sinan’s arms. “No! This wasn’t in the plot!”

My review: A very interesting set up, the mc chose to save herself by avoiding the ML and she did it so meticulously that she got the man weirded out. He was initially disgusted with her character but since she transmigrated into that body and started her journey towards saving her new self and family, the ml started getting curious about her and thus the story unfolds!

Synopsis: The older sister flees from her wedding to be with her lover, and her younger sister is forced to take her place in marrying a very powerful man.

As luck would have it, she ends up transmigrating into the body of that younger sister. As luck would have it, she ends up transmigrating into the body of that younger sister.
Although the man that she weds is very powerful, he’s the irredeemable final villain.
All villains are doomed to a bleak ending. And, as this villain’s wife, she’s afraid that her ending won’t be good either
Fortunately, the older sister had gone back in time after having experienced a lifetime of suffering. This prodigal daughter returns to the turning point of her life. Pointing at her younger sister, she demands for her younger sister to hand over her husband.
Looking at this beautifully crying older sister, Ye Zhen swiftly yields and says, “Older sister, don’t worry. I haven’t even done anything with brother-in-law!”

To her shock, she later discovers that she’s pregnant.
With tears in her eyes, her older sister says, “Didn’t you say that nothing happened between the two of you?”

Ye Zhen looks at the great villain that doggedly pursues her. She is utterly and totally doomed.

There’s a great villain lying next to her, and she’s pregnant with a mini villain. How’s she suppose to survive?!

Later on, as Ye Zhen watches the great villain putting the baby down and changing the diaper, she sighs. “There’s nothing that can be done. I’ve already missed the golden opportunity to turn things around. How can I leave now?”

My review: I Loved how the mc was so sure of the ml’s character and just wanted out of that cursed fate! however, the ML wouldn’t let her flee as she wishes! It was fun to read about how the character’s original set up changed once the transmigration of the mc and the rebirth of her older sister. Things may not be as they seem. A good read with a cool female lead trying her best with what she is got!

Synopsis: Su Ran, a music prodigy, woke up transmigrated into a book.
At that point in time, the main story arc in the book had already been completed. As a villainess female supporting character, not only did she need to take over the original owner’s pitiful life in poverty, she also gained an instant son right at his rebellious period.
Ten or so more years from then, the son would turn into a twisted, evil villain. He would appear in one of the extra chapters to pick on the male and female lead’s children.

Su Ran: Son, you shouldn’t be too outstanding.
Su Han: Why not?
Su Ran: ’cause you will be killed.
Su Ran: Son, would you like to learn music from me and become a zen, little fairy boy who only needs to drink dew.
Su Han: No, I want to go into business so I can support you.

My review: I absolutely loved this novel. I mtled it all in one night. It’s not a light one so be careful. The original character that the mc transmigrated into is a very pitiful woman. she was just a teen spoiled and in love with the wrong person and got punished cruelly for it. I usually skip the angsty stuff but I tried my best to read it here because the story just compelled me to it. The MC’s character is the best, you can surely identify with her. Her child, the villain, is the most adorable teenager ever! I loved their relationship and how she salvaged this mother son trust and love. The ML here is just perfect, he accepted the mc with all her painful past without questioning her, he just wanted to make it better for her. His relationship with his son is quite interesting too, I loved their interactions but still needed more. In short a very a good nouvel !

Synopsis: Xu Xinyi woke up and had obtained a system, the system told her that she was a second female lead who would have a miserable end and that she has 2 choices, to endure all grievances and change for the better, or to walk the same road as the original and become a vicious woman.
She chose the second option.
One day Yi Yang couldn’t tolerate it anymore and, at the end of his patience, he demanded a divorce.
Xu Xinyi’s heart felt ecstatic when he put the divorce agreement in front of her but she looked at her husband and with a sorrowful, heartbroken look on her face. Then she waited for her husband to sign.
—“Hurry up! Sign quickly! I can finally leave this hellhole!”
But Yi Yang, who could suddenly hear Xu Xinyi’s thoughts, threw away the pen and said, “Not signing.”

Ever since Yi Yang discovered that he could hear Xu Xingyi’s thoughts, he found that while his wife kept kissing up to him and saying she loved him on the outside, in her heart she would laugh at that and think the complete opposite.
She only loved him on the surface.
“Husband, you are so nice, I love you so much ah~!”
—“I won’t have to be with this arrogant man forever, will I? I am really the most pitiful woman in the whole world!”
Yi Yang ” Xu Xinyi !!!!!”

My review: Hilarious, you will laugh out loud and wouldn’t know how to stop… yes it is that good. I am laughing right now writing this just remembering this gem of a novel. The MC is gold, her best friend is the funniest and the ml’s reactions are priceless. The ML couldn’t help but fall in love with her paradoxal behavior!

Title: The Dreamer in the Spring Boudoir
Author: 白鹭成双

Synopsis: “I can’t accept this! I can’t! Even as a ghost, I’m going to spend eternity cursing that your relationship will shatter like glass! Break apart like a pair of mandarin ducks that fly away from each other!” With such a persisting obsession, it would be difficult for the vengeful departed spirit to move on.
Ji Man had only read a light novel to pass the time, but she was unexpectedly pulled into a very strange dream. She had become the novel’s most vicious villainess.
The novel rewinds to the beginning. The villainess that had been ordered to commit suicide reappears onto the stage and begins to follow the plot as she walks toward the novel’s ending once again, to a courtyard deep inside a marquis’s residence. A female lead that’s like the Holy Mother. Countless cannon fodders. The imperial family’s favor…

My review: A Great story with both a cool and strong female lead and an equally strong and clever male lead. They are perfect for each other. The romance is gradual and you can understand how they come to like each other. There are a lot of schemes and palace intrigues but you don’t get confused or bored. It is interesting and not too boring and I found myself invested in all the characters!

Warm Waters: Chapter 5

Lu Yichen woke up from the small sofa with a bit of a hangover.

Ji Yan was busy in the kitchen, and when he saw that he had woken up, he brought the breakfast out: “Come and have something to eat.”

The food on the plate was very simple. Two glasses of hot milk and two sandwiches.

Lu Yichen’s mood seemed to be still very down.

“Why aren’t you eating?” Ji Yan asked.

“I really don’t have any appetite, I’m sorry.”

Ji Yan saw Lu Yichen’s sullen look, thought about it and said: “Does the person you like want to go study abroad?”

Lu Yichen froze for a moment and did not answer, but his blinking eyes gave him away.

“Is the other party a boy?” Ji Yan seemed to be just asking, but his expression was firm.

Lu Yichen shuddered, opened his mouth, but nothing came out.

Ji Yan did not know whether he wanted to admit it or deny it.

“Last night, you said it yourself when you were drunk” Ji Yan thought for a moment and tried to comfort him: “Don’t feel inferior because of this, this is not a disease. Not being recognized does not mean that it does not exist, nor does it mean that you are wrong. When you go to a wider environment, you will find that there are many people like you.”

Lu Yichen looked at Ji Yan in surprise. No one had ever said these words to him.

Immediately afterwards, Ji Yan added: “For example, I am.”

Lu Yichen was in disbelief.

The handsome shop owner in front of him turned out to be gay. Just like him.

In an instant, Lu Yichen felt an indescribable feeling in his heart.

“So don’t worry about it, you are just normal, really” Ji Yan smiled and handed him the glass of milk.

Lu Yichen hesitated but took the milk and took a bite of his sandwich.

The teenager soon finished his breakfast and thanked him solemnly before he left.

Ji Yan didn’t care much whether he thanked him or not, because he just wanted to tell him these words.

A few minutes later, the boy returned and smiled shyly, his face very cute.

“That… Can boss lend me some money?”

“How much?”

“200, I want to buy a birthday present for my friend” Lu Yichen blushed a little when he said that.

Ji Yan took out two red banknotes from his pocket and handed it to Lu Yichen: “Are you going to give it to the boy in high school uniform from yesterday? Do you know what to buy? Do you want me to help you choose?”

“It’s too much trouble for you, I’d rather not.”

“It’s all right. I happen to want to go for a walk too.”

Lu Yichen no longer refused: “Then, I’ll come by tonight.”

That evening, Lu Yichen brought Ji Yan to a sports shoes store.

Ji Yan stared at the sign hanging on the shoe store and was slightly shocked. Does Lu Yichen want to give his classmate shoes? This brand of shoes can’t be bought with 200 yuan though.

Lu Yichen quickly selected a pair of white sneakers. Ji Yan glanced at the price tag, 1,200. He sucked in his breath. The boy really was willing to spend money.

After leaving the shoe store, the two walked slowly towards the bus stop.

Ji Yan’s old mother character came out and he couldn’t help but ask in worry: “I remember your family is not good financially? The money for these shoes…”

Ji Yan hoped Lu Yichen was not the kind of person to use his parent’s hard-earned money to buy expensive gifts for his friends.

“The money for the shoes I buy is usually earned from my part-time jobs, I don’t use my family’s money for that” Lu Yichen replied.

Obviously, he understood what Ji Yan meant.

Ji Yan thought about it and continued to ask: “Why do you choose to buy shoes? If you don’t get the right size or style…”

“No, the size and style I bought are suitable for him” Lu Yichen’s tone was positive, the corner of his eyes curved.

“He likes these shoes very much, I know” he said again as a gust of evening wind blew his hair.

Seeing Lu Yichen’s eyes, Ji Yan suddenly understood who the person he liked is. The eyes cannot deceive. That look, those smiling eyes were just like a person in love.

Somehow, Ji Yan felt envious of that gentle boy.

Time flew by quickly.

The day before graduation, Lu Yichen came to resign from the shop. Ji Yan had already expected this, but still, when it was finally time to say goodbye, he was very reluctant and sad.

Lu Yichen stepped forward and hugged him. His hot breath sprayed behind his ears: “Brother Yan, thank you.”

Since it was no longer a boss-employee relationship, Lu Yichen naturally changed his way of addressing him.

On this hot summer day, the young man’s hot body clung to him. Ji Yan’s heartbeat accelerated, remember? He is gay, he can’t help it.

The teenager was unaware of the fire he ignited inside of Ji Yan, and after ending the hug, he just left.

In the evening, on his way back after closing his shop, Ji Yan heard a quarrel in the alley.

Ji Yan has always been a man who is not too busy to watch a good show, so he stopped his bicycle and quietly approached the entrance of the alley.

“Xia Jinian, didn’t you say you wouldn’t leave?”

Ji Yan heard such a sentence as soon as he passed by.

This angry voice sounded very familiar.

“Yichen, just listen to me. Wait for me until I come back from studying abroad and we can be together then.”

Hearing this, Ji Yan suddenly figured it out. It turned out that Lu Yichen was arguing with Xia Jinian.

He had heard this person’s name in Lu Yichen’s mouth before; he was Lu Yichen’s sweetheart.

“You are seriously asking me to wait for you? How can I wait for you? You don’t even know how many years you will be staying there.” In the dim alley, Lu Yichen clenched Xia Jinian’s shoulder.

“Forget it, let’s go, we will still be friends when you come back.” Lu Yichen let go of him and leaned slowly against the wall.

“What nonsense are you spouting? Can’t you just wait for me?” Xia Jinian suddenly raised his tone.

“No” Lu Yichen bowed his head.

Xia Jinian was stunned; he backed two steps away, turned around and ran out of the alley.

Just then, he met Ji Yan who was standing at the alley’s entrance. Flustered, the two stared at each other for a moment. Under the dim street lights, Xia Jinian’s eyes were watery.

“Ah… I was passing by…” Ji Yan said and scratched his head.

Xia Jinian frowned and quickly ran away. After Xia Jinian left, Ji Yan walked into the alley.

The Heartbroken teenager still leaning against the wall was covering his face with both hands and crying in a low voice.

Ji Yan tiptoed and touched the teenager’s head, the scent of wine got into his nose, he frowned and asked softly: “Did you drink again?

The teenager just kept on crying.

Ji Yan was thinking about how to comfort him when he was suddenly held inside a strong chest.

Lu Yichen took Ji Yan into his arms, buried his head in his neck, and let his tears flow down to his shoulders.

“He… Tomorrow he will go to study abroad …” Lu Yichen rubbed his teary cheeks twice on Ji Yan’s face.

Ji Yan’s heartbeats quickened again, he felt distressed. He didn’t want to see Lu Yichen miserable like this, did not want him to cry and did not want to see him sad.

So, he did the most impulsive thing in his life. He grabbed Lu Yichen’s head and attached his lips to his.

Lu Yichen’s eyes widened in surprise.

Warm Waters: Chapter 4 – part 3

That night, Ji Yan boarded a flight back to Changchun.

On the plane, the image of Lu Yichen standing in the dark corridor kept replying in his mind over and over again.

In fact, at that time, what he really wanted was to ask Lu Yichen whether he loved him or not, but he was afraid of either answer.

Afraid it would lead him to both hesitation and heartache.

After a moment, Ji Yan felt drowsy.

He soon drifted to sleep and went to dream about their past again and again.

“Come early tomorrow, or how about tonight, is it convenient for you to stay a bit longer?” Ji Yan looked at Lu Yichen, who was too eye-catching for his own good, and smiled: “I will teach you how to make cold drinks; it is not very difficult, you are so smart, you should be able to master it in no time.”

Lu Yichen with his eyebrows lowered, sipping the cold, sweet lemonade, nodded and said: “Tonight is fine, thank you.”

“I will say it in advance; it would be ten dollars[1] an hour.”

“I know, thank you.”

Ji Yan took Lu Yichen to the kitchen and began to teach him how to make cold drinks. As expected, Lu Yichen didn’t take much to learn, he only had to show him once.

In front of a variety of concentrated jams, milk tea powder, and pearl coconut fruit, Ji Yan taught him exactly what percentage of each to use in order to make each kind of drink.

Ji Yan stared at Lu Yichen, who was earnestly doing his best, sincerely appreciating such people.

The next day, Ji Yan’s shop was twice as popular as usual.

The girls crowded in front of the counter and asked for Lu Yichen to make them a drink.

Ji Yan lifted the corner of his mouth in a smile, this was the handsome guy effect.

Later at noon, after a busy morning, Ji Yan carried a plate of fried rice with eggs and put it in front of Lu Yichen who was about to leave.

“Help yourself, I made it for you” He took out a stack of banknotes from his pocket and said:

“By the way, this is your salary.”

Lu Yichen counted it and asked: “Why are there ten dollars more?”

“Take it as your reward. There is no time to buy food at this time and you are about to go to class. Hurry and eat.”

Lu Yichen just looked at Ji Yan confused.

“No need to be polite, eat your lunch.”

Lu Yichen said nothing more, packed up the money, took a spoon and tried a bite.

Immediately after that, he went for a second bite, a third bite, and so forth until he finished his meal.

“Did you like it?” Ji Yan leaned on his chin, staring at him with a smile.

“It was delicious, boss. Then, I’ll be on my way” Lu Yichen said and quickly ran out of the door.

Ji Yan looked at his back and couldn’t help but sigh. The kid is certainly motivated!

That night, Lu Yichen was busy, and two tall, thin boys were waiting for him at the door.

“Lu Yichen! Hurry up! Today is Jinian’s birthday!”

“It’s okay, don’t rush him.”

Ji Yan naturally heard them too.

The one shouting was a boy wearing the currently popular short-sleeved jeans.

The other boy was dressed in his school uniform. His face was bright with a pink blush. He had a gentle look as he smiled softly.

The trendy boy replied: “Brother, this is your birthday. If you are not in a hurry, then I don’t care.”

And the gentle one just said: “I am not bothered, we can wait.”

Lu Yichen was finishing tidying up the kitchen.

Ji Yan put on his apron and walked to him: “Your classmates are waiting for you. Go with them, I’ll take it from here.”

Lu Yichen shook his head: “No, I haven’t finished my work yet.”

“I can do it. Don’t let them wait for you. I won’t deduce it from your salary.”

Lu Yichen hesitated.

Outside his trendy friend shouted for him again. Lu Yichen took off his apron, wiped his hands, took his backpack and said: “Thank you, boss. I’m leaving now.”

“See you tomorrow.”

“Yes, good-bye.”

Ji Yan finished cleaning up and looked at the time. It happened to be the time for the live broadcast of a game he wanted to watch.

He turned on the small TV in the store and decided to leave after watching the game.

Seeing half of the game, Ji Yan stood dancing in the store, cheering for the goal just scored, when suddenly the door was pushed open.

Looking back, it was Lu Yichen.

Surprised he asked: “What are you doing here?”

“Can I stay here for a while?” Lu Yichen’s eyes were red and his mouth was pursed.

Ji Yan immediately agreed, guessing the child had been wronged.

“Want to watch the game with me?”

Lu Yichen sat beside him and shook his head.

“Have you been drinking?”

Ji Yan nodded then shook his head: “Didn’t drink too much, just a little.”

“What happened?”

Ji Yan saw that Lu Yichen didn’t say anything. It seems that he doesn’t want to talk about it, and since, it’s his private matters, and Ji Yan didn’t want to pry too much, he didn’t ask anymore.

Back at the game, it was a critical moment. Ji Yan couldn’t help but turn his attention to the TV and concentrate on watching the game.

“He… wants…” Lu Yichen whispered something.

“Hmm? What?” Ji Yan still kept staring at the game.

Then, the next moment, Ji Yan was hugged into Lu Yichen’s arm as he whispered in a lost voice in his ear: “He’s going abroad, he doesn’t want me.”

“hmm? What? Who?”

“Boss, am I sick? …I like men.”

Ji Yan suddenly froze.

After a long time, Lu Yichen finally fell asleep.

Ji Yan sat next to him and softly said: “You are not sick, this is not a sickness.”

I also like men.

[1] Ten dollars: the currency should be Chinese Yuan but 10 Yuan equals to 1.41 American dollars and that wouldn’t be right! One to two dollars an hour would be too little for a part time job so I just used dollar instead.

Synopsis: When Lin Ran woke up, he found out that he has unfortunately transmigrated into the body of the Evil Cult Founder’s 18th little concubine. Even more unfortunate was the fact that his true identity is actually a guard and he has married the Founder in order to spy on him.
Idiotic protagonist could only ‘bite the bullet’ and be an undercover. All sorts of bad luck, all sorts of incidents in ‘getting exposed’… however, he found out that this Founder’s attitude is very very strange…

My review: The mc transmigrated into the body of a spy and he is pretending to be the concubine of the leader of a diabolic sect HOWEVER nothing goes as he has originally imagined!! The ml is sweet to the mc and very lovingly dotes on him. It’s a very short but funny story. I loved the side characters story too.

Title: The Script is Not Like This!
Author: ZiWuYueYuan
Country: China
Genre: Romantic comedy
Status: Completed with 19 Chapters
Translation: Completed

Rating on Novel Updates: 4.5/ 5

Synopsis: This novel can be summarized in three sentences:
1- Scum top abuses trash bottom.
2- Trash bottom loses his heart completely and leaves scum top.
3- All of a sudden, the scum top comes to his senses: Oh, I’ll look for the next one then, bye.
Hold on! Where’s the agreed abuse for the scum top? What happened to the promised transformation of scum top into a loyal dog? This isn’t how the script is supposed to be!
This novel is especially made as a reversal of the scum top and trash bottom tropes. There will be no three-views, no integrity, no limits and no logic. Beware of intentional landmines, scum top and revenge against society!

My review: Both the mc (seme) and the ml (seme turned volontarily uke hhh) are transmigrated into cliche danmei novels created by the same person : the shou. The interactions between the leads felt natural and funny, they could both relate to eachother and so fell along the way for eachother. No big drama for once, just comedie, a bit of romance and some fluff towards the end

Synopsis: His filming opportunities were taken by others, his boyfriend cheated on him, he gave up a rich, tall handsome fiance and devoted himself to a scumbag. In the end, he was beaten to death by the scumbag.
Yan Qing Chi felt that although this danmei cannon fodder supporting male that he transmigrated into was troublesome, it was kind of tragic that he died like this through his own actions.
So, the first thing that Yan Qing Chi did after taking over this body was to catch them in the act and beat up the scumbag! The second thing that he did, was to agree to the marriage proposal from the aristocratic fiance.
However, Yan Qing Chi stared down at his big belly. Who can tell him what the heck this was?! Don’t tell him that he transmigrated into a mpreg novel???
Standing on the side, tall, rich, and handsome Film Emperor Jiang asked carefully: “Babe, do you want a boy or a girl?”
Yan Qing Chi: Do I want a WHAT?!

My review: This is a gem in this genre ! It got me hooked, smilling and wishing it would never end. I loved everything about it. The mc’s character is unique charming, honnest, strong and very intelligent but what i liked the most is his confidence and frankeness especially with the ml. The ml is a good character too very sytraightforward and loyal so it was the best match, really. Their story was quite refreshing and felt mature. I also loved the side characters stories. They were enteresting and got me invested.

Title: Transmigrating into the Reborn Male Lead’s Ex-Boyfriend

Synopsis: Song Xuanhe transmigrated into a book called “The President’s Seven Boyfriends”. He became the President’s cannon fodder ex-boyfriend, Song Xuanhe.
The Song Xuanhe in the book is 180 cm tall, so attractive he would trump over even the hottest celebrities, and a third generation heir. All in all , a very appropriate rich master.
It wasn’t a loss to transmigrate into this kind of person. It was just that this was a rebirth story.
The Song Xuanhe in the book abused the male lead 800 times and had even indirectly caused his death. Faced with the reborn blackened male lead, his fate was obvious:not only did he reach rock bottom, he even died without an intact corpse.
Right now, he had become the cannon fodder ex-boyfriend that was foreordained to die without an intact corpse.
System: Don’t you think that the male lead has been a bit strange recently? It’s like he’s plotting something in the dark.
Song Xuanhe: Plotting how to kill me?
System: No, plotting how to eat you.
Song Xuanhe, who was lying on the bed with an aching waist, pained back and legs suffering from cramps, cursed the System 800 times, what happened to the male lead being a shou?!

My review: A wonderful transmigration themed novel that I loved! This one is with a system. It is quite the character too and so I really got attached to it, . The mc tried to make the best of what he had to get the best outcome possible and the ml felt unure of his feelings towards him especially after his rebirth. Their chemistry though was through the roof. They both tried their best to deny the obvious and failed miserably.

Title: My Husband is Suffering from a Terminal Illness

Rating on Novel Updates: 4.6/ 5

Synopsis: Xie Yang has spent many years in the apocalypse and is tired and worn out. Then he transmigrated into a simple and superficial novel about the entertainment circle.
The protagonist of the novel was handsome, smart and a reborn. The female protagonist of the novel was beautiful, inspirational and had a golden finger. Some male and female supporting characters were also beautiful and had a deep background. If he casually transmigrated into one of them then he could close his eyes and enjoy himself. However, he didn’t transmigrate into any of them and instead became the hidden husband of the biggest villain in the novel, the male protagonist’s uncle.
He was called a husband but it was more similar to a caregiver. This was because the biggest villain in the novel was a terminally ill patient with a terrible personality and a sick brain. They got married for the sake of happiness.
Xie Yang: It doesn’t matter if you are the male lead, the female lead or the villain, whoever dares to stop me from living a comfortable life will die.

My review: Intresting set up, the mc was quite the character, I very easily fell for his cheekiness, the ml didn’t take long too to get attracted to him. Their romance was endearing, they both cared so much for eachother and finally got their Happy ever after! It was both funny and heartwarming. Their relationship felt healthy and balanced.

Warm Waters: Chapter 4 – Part 2

Once in his apartment, Ji Yan searched for his long unused suitcase and started packing his things.

Randomly looking through his belongings, he found that there were very few things he wanted to take with him.

At some point, the sound of someone knocking on the door could be heard. This noise persisted for a long time, annoying Ji Yan.

He could not tell when the knocking stopped but the room suddenly became quiet again, so quiet, he could hear his heartbeat.

Ji Yan went to sit on his bed just for a bit, but a while after, he was still sitting there, in a daze, reminiscing about their past.

He remembered many things; a lot of thoughts submerged his mind again and again.

Three years ago, Ji Yan opened a dessert shop for the first time near a key high school in Suzhou.

He has never learned dessert, but to him, all foods are interlinked. He took it as a challenge and has groped his way into learning more about how to make delicious desserts.

And that is how he came to open a shop.

As soon as his shop opened, whether it was high school students or adults, both came in, in an endless stream.

Ji Yan is a very picky person when it comes to making desserts, he always chose the best ingredients and he took his time perfecting new recipes. Therefore, the highly popular desserts were also high priced.

At the end of spring, cold drinks were frequently served in Ji Yan’s shop.

A group of young and energetic girls sat in the store with their cold drinks talking about worries and problems only they would understand.

A particular name often came up in their discussions. It was a boy’s name “Lu Yichen”.

No. 1 in the school, No. 1 in the city’s joint examination, and a genius among his peers of the same grade.

Simply put: a prodigy.

Ji Yan, who has never considered himself worse than others, was getting curious about this genius.

As the weather became hotter and hotter, there were more and more students coming to get refreshments at his shop. Ji Yan was getting busier and had to recruit a part-timer to help him around.

That evening, as Ji Yan was closing up the shop, a nice voice suddenly came from behind: “Do you still need manpower?”

Ji Yan paused and turned around to look at the person.

A tall and handsome boy with a childish face stood in front of him. When he talked two little front tiger teeth could be seen, it made him look quite cute.

“Yes, I haven’t hired anyone yet” Ji Yan said and reopened the door that he had just locked.

“Come on in” Ji Yan invited him in and started to make him a glass of lemonade with ice.

He put it in front of the boy and said: “This time you can make do with this.”

“Thank you” The boy shyly said.

“How old are you?”

“Eighteen, I am in my senior year of high school.”

“Third year of high school!” Ji Yan thought for a bit and said: “Hey, doesn’t that mean that you have to take the College entrance exam later this year?”

“Yes, it is in less than two months.”

“Why do you want to do it? a Part-time job I mean” Ji Yan said and stared at the boy’s pretty face.

He had a weird and constant impression that he had seen it before.

“I want to make money for College.”

Ji Yan only then noticed that the clothes the boy was wearing were too simple. Although the shoes looked very clean, they seemed old.

“What’s your name?”

“Lu Yichen” The boy answered.

Ji Yan was stunned. The name sounds too familiar.

He was a little shocked: “With your grades, I heard that you could get in Tsinghua University, right? What kind of tuition fees do you need?”

“I want to go to Harvard” Lu Yichen’s eyes brightened when he said this.

At that time, Ji Yan only felt that the child was ambitious.

What he did not know was that Harvard was the school Xia Jinian intended to go to.

The knocking on the door started again.

Startled, Ji Yan came back to himself, he did not expect Lu Yichen to be still there.

He picked up his suitcase, turned around and finally opened the door.

Lu Yichen’s tall figure enveloped Ji Yan’s body in an instant, his eyes flushed.

Ji Yan tried to push him away but he had no strength to fight, he just said: “I paid half a year’s rent for this house; you can continue to live here.”

“Brother Yan” Lu Yichen hugged him nervously, his voice low and trembling, he said:

“Where are you going?”

“Back to Changchun, I miss home.”

“Then… are you coming back?”

“No, I am not coming back.”

Ji Yan then felt his shoulders getting wet from Lu Yichen’s tears. The last time he saw this kid crying was three years ago, the day before Xia Jinian went to study abroad.

“Then…I’ll go find you there, OK?”

Ji Yan didn’t answer.

An unspeakable sadness invaded Lu Yichen’s heart and suddenly occupied his body. He held

Ji Yan tightly and did not want to let go, nor did he dare to.

Finally after a while, Ji Yan broke free from his gripe, turned and walked out, carrying his suitcase and stepping down the stairs one by one.

When approaching the gate, Ji Yan glanced back one last time at Lu Yichen.

The latter had his head lowered down while his shoulders shook slightly.
